M&G’S EXHIBITION GALLERY: In the spirit of the great private collections and museums of the past, M&G’s exhibition gallery showcases some of the collection’s greatest Baroque paintings hung salon style-from floor to ceiling. Patrons young and old will discover how great collections were once formed and how a collector’s most prized possessions were exclusively exhibited in a room such as The Grand Picture Gallery.
EXPLORING ROME WITH ART: Children 6-12 may enter the streets of ancient Rome to piece together a mosaic, identify Rome’s landmarks, shop at the Forum, dress up in traditional Roman garb and more.

THE POWER OF THE PORTRAIT:
From ancient times to the present, portraits have immortalized and memorialized the famous and beloved. The Power of Portrait showcases over 30 compelling portraits from the 15th through the 20th century.
SITTING PRETTY:
Artechus and Artemesia will guide children on a scavenger hunt through time and culture. Children will hone their observation skills by “people watching,” exploring what portraits reveal about human nature and divulge people of the past.
INSIGHTS INTO ART AND CULTURE TOUR:
(Starts at 3:00PM) Join the Museum & Gallery at Heritage Green for a 30-minute walk-in tour of The Power of the Portrait.
ARTISTS OF THE UPSTATE JURIED EXHIBITION SPONSORED BY THE GREENVILLE JOURNAL:
For the third year, Artisphere, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Arts Council and Centre Stage, will present the Artists of the Upstate juried exhibition. The exhibition, open to artists living within a 35-mile radius of Greenville, seeks to recognize the outstanding quality and diversity of work being generated by artists of the Upstate region of South Carolina.

A PORTRAIT OF GREENVILLE:
A multifaceted look at the Upstate’s largest city, A Portrait of Greenville brings together commissioned projects completed during the past twenty-five years. It features new works by nationally known artists such as Andrew Lenaghan and John Moore, as well as those by noted Southern artists Edward Rice, William McCullough, and Tim Barnwell.
Presented in tandem with Andrew Wyeth: The Greenville Collection, the Museum’s prestigious, in-depth collection that features works from every phase of Wyeth’s 70-year career, and Grey Album, which brings together works from the Museum collection to challenge racial, historical, and aesthetic assumptions. The exhibition includes sampling of nineteenth century storage jars by the enslaved potter Dave Drake.
The Greenville Opera presents an evening of beautiful singing, enticing melodies and riveting drama. Some of the upstate’s premier vocal artists will perform scenes from La Traviata, La Boheme, The Magic Flute, Barber of Seville and other well known operas.
